Before pruning After pruning
The largest stem that will make the best leader jogs to the right as it ascends into the crown. The lowest branch on the left is almost the same diameter as the trunk. Although the large low branch on the left could be removed now, reducing the number of branches and stems growing from it that are in the upright position resulted in a more aesthetically pleasing tree. The branch can be removed the next time the tree is pruned. Notice the brush pile behind the tree that resulted from the pruning.
